VACANCY FOR A
LAND WORKER
Camphill Devon Community requires a Land Worker for its Farm, Garden and Estate. Must have experience of organic or biodynamic husbandry.
Duties include normal farm and garden work, with an emphasis on animal welfare. The post also requires the ability to supervise and work with people with learning disabilities.
Some Farm administration duties will be required.
We have suitable accommodation for a single person as a live in co-worker. This post is also available as a live out employee. Starting salary will be £8.16-£9.17 per hour for a 30 hour week, with 28 days paid holidays plus statutory holidays (pro rata part time).
The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced CRB check.

Job Description
Position Title: Land worker
Location: Hapstead Village, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JN
Function: To maintain and develop activities to meet the therapeutic and educational needs of the villagers through work on the Community’s Farm, garden and estate.
Responsible to: The Manager/Management Group
Job Description:
1) To supervise various groups of Villagers to engage in activities on the farm, garden and estate.
2) You will have experience of organic or biodynamic crop and animal husbandry. You will be required to undertake animal and crop husbandry on both the farm and in the garden.
3) To undertake estate work to fulfil the needs of the Community.
4) In addition, you may be required to undertake duties to ensure the smooth running of the Community.
6) To have responsibility for ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe environment, maintaining a duty of care to Villagers, oneself and colleagues and implementing all the necessary Health and Safety Regulations for the work area.
7) To attend meetings concerned with the running of the farm, garden and estate.
8) To assist in report preparation for contribution at Care Plan reviews of Villagers who use the farm, garden and estate areas and attend the review meetings as requested.
9) To attend statutory staff training courses as required and other development and training courses as agreed with the Manager.
10) To attend regular supervision at agreed times and annual performance appraisals with the manager or person appointed by him.
